The ground around here
What the dirt does in this part of the county
De Soto is creek-bottom and hill in the same town. Joachim Creek runs through the middle of it, and the ground either side climbs away into the wooded Ozark-border hills that define this end of the county. A property here is usually either in the flat near the water or on the slope above it, and the two need opposite things.
In the bottoms the problem is that water arrives and does not leave: flat ground, clay-heavy soil and a creek that rises fast after a storm. On the slopes the problem is the opposite — water leaves too quickly and takes the surface with it, so cut banks need stabilising and drives need a crown and somewhere to shed to.
What gets asked for
The jobs this area tends to need
Around De Soto the common calls are yard and driveway regrading, drainage runs and ditch work on the low ground, bank stabilisation and gravel drives on the hills, and clearing on the larger wooded lots towards the county edge.
That describes the ground and the housing stock here, not a list of jobs completed in this town. The work we can show you is on the gallery, and what customers say about it is on the why us page.
